So back in High School I wrote a story in a spiral notebook. It was terrible and didn’t have an ending, but it was the first story where I looked at it and thought, ‘yeah, I should do this as a comic’.
And so that’s what I did.

In 2010 I decided I should draw the main characters from this old project every year in June, it started off as sketches and evolved into finished illustrations that I plan to do every year.

Above is the 2013 illustration, head on over to my blog to see the rest of the sketches and more notes about this character retrospective!

Inoue Takehiko

Always reblog Inoue Takehiko

Forever an inspiration and hero, Takehiko is my favorite Japanese storyteller by far. Everyone should read his comic about wheelchair basketball.

So Jen doesn’t know me, but I remember being in the classroom when she used to bring her work to my professor last year (she’s graduated and working for Google now), and recently stumbled upon her Tumblr. Go check her out because seeing her process is quite amazing!
